This plate features the SWAINSON’S WARBLER and is from the Royal Worcester James J. Audubon Series of Plates, commissioned by the New York Historical Society.? It is the first plate in the series, dated 1976 and issued in a limited edition of just 5,000 plates.? The design is reproduced from an original watercolor by James J Audubon.? ?Fine English bone china, diameter approximately 10.75 inches (just over 27 cm). ???Appropriately marked on the back, including the Royal Worcester trademark.? The beautiful cream color border is decorated with asymmetrical leaves and berries reflecting a strong Japanese aesthetic influence. EXCELLENT CONDITION (no chips, cracks, or repairs) and FIRST QUALITY (no scratch through the trademark).? Old dealer stock, never displayed or sold at retail.? A truly magnificent plate!?
