As described in the accompanying brochure “In the Pensive Madonna,’ we see a form reduced to a sequence of planes. Mary in particular are defined in a series of angled lines which give strength and substance to her form.  Small, careful details – a jutting knee and elbow, the squared shoulders  surround and protect the Child.  Even the low stone doorstep upon which she sits protrudes like the battlement of a caster toward the viewer.”   The plate is handcrafted in genuine alabaster from the Tuscany region of Italy.  Included is a brochure discussing additional features of the plate.  The plate is numbered and includes a certificate of authenticity (in Italian) and the original shipping box.  The plate has been stored in the original shipping box and never displayed and will be shipped in the original box.  Bradex 38-V90-2.1.  The back of the plate is metal and is tarnished, but easily readable.
