I suppose that all depends on which side of the fence you are on. Back in the 80's it would cost a couple hundred dollars on the secondary market to get this plate (much more for Scarlett). Now it is much less, which is good for those collectors who need to complete the collection.
All trends ebb and flow, hopefully the future adults will start to appreciate art they can hold in their hands more than just a digital image on their ipod.

It's a shame the market for these "poor man's" works of art has collapsed. Mother in law would roll over in her grave to see her beloved stuff going out at these prices.
