Trevor Swanson has been acclaimed as one of today's most talented wildlife artists, by both wildlife associations and the collectibles industry. His realistic portrayals of animals in their natural environment result in breathtaking scenes of beauty and realism. To achieve this unique quality in his works, Trevor has traveled the world photographing and sketching animals where they live. The result is a majestic scene without par. The artist has not limited his research to remote wildlife. In order to create a series of plates featuring farm animals for Islandia International, Trevor spent time on his uncle's Colorado ranch to see the animals "at home." The result is the popular Trevor's Farm Friends series. The son of noted wildlife artist Gary R. Swanson, Trevor demonstrated his own artistic talents at an early age. In his late teens, Trevor and his sister, Kimberly, began formal training under their father's guidance. By the time he was 20, Trevor Swanson had embarked on his own professional career. Over the past decade, he has earned many awards, including Artist of the Year from the Foundation for North American Wildlife Sheep. In the three years since Islandia International introduced Trevor Swanson plates, the artist has twice been awarded Best Wildlife Artist and Best Plate at Show by the International Collectibles Exposition. Trevor Swanson paints from the heart, and his art touches others in a special way. "There is so much beauty in the world," says the artist. "My joy is being able to capture fleeting moments through my paintings for others to enjoy."
